UAM grew, through over 50 acquisitions, to $200 billion in assets under management, $1 billion in annual revenues, over $200 million of cash earnings, a New York Stock Exchange listing and a stock market value (after regular dividends and $650 million of share buybacks) of more than $1.5 billion. UAM was sold in September, 2000 to Old Mutual, Plc.
